There are USB wall chargers and then there are USB charging stations which are essentially the same thing.

That said, USB charging stations have more USB ports for charging, even more, devices at the same time and that also gives them the option for using special charging tech with more than just a single USB port.

In this case, we’re talking about this Aukey 6-Port USB charging station that features not just one but two Quick Charge ports. This type of charging electronic is not very common on the market and that’s why we thought it would be great to go in-depth to know what this charger is capable of.

Let’s take a closer look.

Output Charging:

There are 6 USB charging ports on this charger. 4 of the ports has a charging speed of 5V/2.4A that is good considering they’re able to charge any Non-Compatible Quick Charge device at its max charging speed.

This is true for when it comes to charging smartphones and tablets such as iPads and some Samsung Galaxy tablets that don’t use Quick Charge.

That said, the main event of this charging station is its use of Quick Charge and how it has two USB ports that use Quick Charge.

As a result, you’re able to charge two Quick Charge compatible devices their max charging speed at the same time. This is great if you and somebody else have a Quick Charge compatible device as you both can charge your smartphones at their max power at the same time.

Or you can potentially charge a Quick Charge phone and a tablet at the same time and have them both charge very quickly.

Max Output of Power

The max Output of power that this USB charging station has is plenty as its 60W of power and that translates over to 12 Amps.

As a result, if you were using each of the ports and the max output of 12A is being reached, each of the ports would be able to Output a charging speed of 5V/2.0A. That is good even though you won’t be able to use any of the ports at their max power each of the 6 devices that you’re charging at the same time would charge rather quickly.

Also, the great thing is that you can use the max power of four of the standard ports at the same time. You can also use the max power of two Quick Charge ports and two standard ports at the same time too. Overall, there’s plenty of power to go around for lots of devices charging at once with this charger.

The charging speed of each of the two Quick Charge 3.0 Ports: 3.6-6.5V/3.0A | 6.5-9V/2.0A | 9-12V/1.5A.

Size and Weight:

Since this USB charging station has 6 ports, it’s, of course, going to be quite large. That said, it’s not large in an unmanageable time of manner, it’s just large in terms of a wall charger and won’t be an obstruction so long as you don’t have a tiny desk or a crowded surface to place it on.

This Aukey 6-Port Desktop Charger has a length of 4 inches, a width of 2.8 inches, and a thickness of 1 inch.

The weight of the charger is 7.3 ounces. Nothing too large at all and you’ll have no problems keeping it close to your computer while you have lots of devices charging at once.

The only real issue with it is making the charger stand vertically as it’s quite slim and has a curve at the bottom that doesn’t make it very stable when you place it on a surface in its vertical position.

Functional Components:

This is a highly minimalistic USB charging station that has all 6 of its USB charging ports on a single side, with 4 standard ports being colored Green.

The two Quick Charge ports are at the bottom have an Orange color to theirs. The charger uses a 2.6-foot power cord and once you plug the charger into an AC outlet, it has a Greenlight that comes on to the side of the charger to let you know that it’s ready for use.

Build

Structure and Material:

The desktop charger is made of plastic and doesn’t have very many parts too, which is a great thing as the charger doesn’t have parts that can come loose and make it fall apart.

Tech:

Considering this charger has 6 USB ports and you’re able to charge 6 devices at once, it doesn’t heat up.

Reliability

It has 6 USB ports! What more could there be? Well, the thing with the charger is that it may have too much.

If don’t think you’ll ever have to charge two Quick Charge compatible devices at the same time, then there isn’t much incentive to purchase this charger. So it would be better to consider purchasing Aukey’s 5-Port USB charging station that has a single port that uses Quick Charge.

That said, this 6-Port USB charging station has a great level of reliability as you can charge 6 devices at once and you can also charge two Quick Charge devices at the same time.

I want to query about this Aukey 6 Port Desktop Charger, that can I use low power bluetooth device or phone or headphone to charge, like in this charger, it said it will charge upto 2.4 amp per port (total of 4), but what about a phone of 5V-1 Amps, a bluetooth headphone 5V-0.6 Amps.
My question is that this desktop charger is capable of providing that low power like 5V-0.6 Amps to my headphone or my phone, or it will only charge max 5V-2.4 Amps or 5V-2 Amps???

    Thanks Please reply ASAP.

    • Hey there,

This desktop charger will be able to charge your phone at 1 Amp and also your headphones at a 5V/0.6A charging speed.

The 5V/2.4A charging speed is simply the max amount of power range for each port. Lower charging rates are available for devices that don’t need 2.4 Amps of charging power.

Thank you for your time and if you have any more questions, then please ask.
