There are all types of USB-C chargers on the market now because so many devices are compatible with charging with USB-C ports. This is thanks to Power Delivery (PD), which can output a high wattage and ultimately charge small or large devices faster. Also, chargers are much smaller while still allowing a high output and a couple of ports on the charger, so you can fast charge multiple devices simultaneously.

In this review, we’re looking at this Innergie C6 Duo 63W USB-C PD wall charger. This is a simple but reliable charger that can be used to charge most USB-C devices, and most of the time, simplicity is most important when it comes to charging.

Power

Output Charging:

This Innergie C6 Duo has two USB-C Power Delivery ports, and they both have an equivalent output, which means that each port can output 60W if you’re charging a single device. The max output of this charger is 63W.

So if you’re only charging a single device, you can fast charge most laptops and phones. Charging multiple devices simultaneously does split the power output, but the power allocation for this Innergie Duo charger is done very well.

In our testing, we charged a Lenovo Flex 5 laptop alone, which could charge at about 25W, its max charging speed. Then we connected a Galaxy Note 9 while the Flex 5 was charging, and the Note 9 was able to fast charge. This is possible because when charging two devices simultaneously, the power split is either 45W and 18W or 30W and 30W. In this case, the Innergie charger supplied more charging to the Lenovo laptop but could still fast charge the Note 9 with 18W.

You can also fast charge two phones simultaneously, as we charged a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and an LG G7 simultaneously, which is simple, with each port outputting 30W. We were also able to charge a Nintendo Switch and fast charge a Note 9. With a 30W output from each of the ports when charging two devices, you can easily charge two Macbook Air laptops. However, this is not true for all USB-C chargeable laptops, but it is the case for Apple’s laptops.

We reached a small limit with this Innergie Duo charger, which would be trying to use the PPS super fast charging while charging two devices. We charged the Lenovo laptop and a Galaxy S20 (compatible with 25W PPS), but the S20 could only fast charge at 18W. Charging the Galaxy S20 alone enabled it to super fast charge at 25W, as it wasn’t receiving enough charging power while two devices were charging. This Innergie Duo charger features up to a 33W PPS charge rate.

Design

Size and Weight:

This is a small charger with a length of 2.2 inches, a width of 1.9 inches, and a thickness of 1.2 inches. The weight of this charger is 4.9 ounces. So a tiny charger and the foldable plug make portability even easier.

Functional Components:

It’s straightforward to use this Innergie charger; unfold the plug, plug it into an AC outlet, and it’s ready to use. There are no LED power lights, which would have been nice to have, but at the same time, consumers complain about lights being a disturbance when trying to sleep.

Build

Structure and Material:

This charger is built very well and differently from most other wall chargers we’ve reviewed. This is because the entirety of this charger is a single part, meaning that it has a unibody design. Usually, wall chargers have separate pieces put together, but it seems like this charger is just one whole, which is rare to see and means fewer parts can break.

Tech:

This charger only got a little warm when charging at high wattages for a long duration, but that was completely normal.

Reliability

This Innergie C6 Duo wall charger will serve you well if you have one or multiple USB-C chargeable devices. The 60W of Power Delivery from a single is enough for most charging needs, and the power allocation is smart enough to know which devices need higher wattage power. It would have been nice to have a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box, though.

Summary:

Power:

Charging power is good with 60W from each USB-C port when charging a single device and a 45W – 18W or 30W – 30W split of power when charging two devices simultaneously. This charger also features 33W of PPS super fast charging for compatible devices.

Design:

This charger is tiny, and you won’t have to worry about portability.

Build:

The charger is just one entire piece, which is rare. It only got a little warm when charging at a high wattage for a long duration.

Reliability:

If you need a USB-C charger to charge your USB-C devices, you can’t go wrong with this Innergie C6 Duo wall charger. It has a high output, intelligent power allocation, two USB-C ports, a small size, and PPS. It would have been nice to have a cable with the wall charger.
