For the most part, if you’re looking for the most powerful Power Delivery wall chargers, most use a 100W PD charge rate. However, we’re at a point where Power Delivery is being pushed even higher as more laptops that charge USB-C can charge faster than the 100W threshold. They’re rare, but these PD wall chargers will become more common as more portable devices can charge faster.
This review looks at this KOVOL 140W Power Delivery wall charger with a USB-C port and a USB-A Quick Charge port. If you want to futureproof your PD charging speeds, this is the charger you’ll likely need.
Power
Output Charging:
The max output of this KOVOL wall charger is 140W, and you can use the total 140W if you’re charging from the USB-C alone, but charging two devices simultaneously does lower the USB-C output from 140W to 120W while the USB-A port output is 18W. That’s barely a drop in power, as a 120W output is still very fast.

In our test, we could charge a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 at its max charging speed via the USB-C port, and it could charge at the max rate. We then connected a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to the USB-A Quick Charge port, which could fast charge, and the Lenovo Flex 5 laptop was still charging at max speed. This isn’t a surprise, as the original charger with the Lenovo laptop is a 65W USB-C charging brick.
We then tested the USB-C PD port with a Samsung Galaxy S20, and it was able to super fast charge at 25W because the USB-C port features a 33W Programmable Power Supply (PPS) charge rate. We could super fast charge the Galaxy S20 and the Note 9 simultaneously.

Our test for this KOVOL wall charger was straightforward, and that’s because this is a simple but mighty wall charger. With a 140W output, you can charge nearly all USB-C chargeable laptops. You can even charge a Macbook Pro at 120W with a USB-C to MagSafe charging cable; the cable is not included with this wall charger, and you have to provide your own, but it’s possible to charge the Macbook Pro at max speed. You can also charge the Macbook Air at its max rate of 67W with this KOVOL wall charger.
This is one of the few Power Delivery wall chargers that can truly futureproof your charging needs for the next few years as more laptops and other devices use USB-C.

Design
Size and Weight:
With such a high power output, this wall charger is tiny, with a length of just 3.4 inches, a width of 2.7 inches, and a thickness of 1.3 inches. The charger weighs 12 ounces. So for a 140W charger, it’s tiny, thanks to the charger using GaN, which allows the charger to be smaller and still output more power. However, when plugging the charger into a wall outlet, we recommend always plugging it into the bottom outlet because it will cover the bottom outlet if you plug it into the top outlet.
The charger does have a bit of weight to it, but it’s what you can expect from such a powerful charger. It’s still an incredibly portable universal charger, much better than a charging brick.
Functional Components:
This KOVOL wall charger functions like any other charger, with a foldable plug that has to be plugged into an outlet, and you’re ready to use. An LED power light at the front of the charger that turns on once the charger is plugged in.

Build
Structure and Material:
The charger has a great build, and we were worried that its weight would be too heavy to support itself when plugged into an outlet, but it was just fine.
Tech:
When charging the Lenovo laptop and the Note 9 simultaneously, we felt no temperature change on the charger.
Reliability
Reliability is what this KOVOL 140W wall charger is all about. With a 140W charging speed, you can charge most USB-C chargeable devices; this is true for laptops, tablets, phones, and earbuds cases, and most are portable devices that use a USB-C port to recharge from. Even with devices that don’t have a USB-C port, you can still charge them with a USB-C charger with a compatible cable, such as USB-C to MagSafe cable for charging a Macbook Pro or a USB-C to Lightning cable for charging an iPhone.
You also get the extra USB-A Quick Charge port for charging an additional device if needed, so you’re not just limited to charging a single device. The size and weight of the charger may be a bit larger than other PD wall chargers you’ve seen on the market, but that’s because of the 140W output that makes it so reliable and futureproof.
