Portable jump starters have improved a lot in recent years, with pens that can jump-start nearly any vehicle that uses a 12V battery; those jump starters have a high peak current and can be pretty expensive.
This review looks at this VTOMAN V6 1500A peak current jump starter. This is probably one of the simplest jump starters you can own. That is pretty dependable and can be used as a daily power bank for charging your phone. Let’s take a closer look.
Power Capacity
The battery of this VTOMAN jump starter is 44.4Wh, so nothing too special, and you’ll be able to get about 30 jump starts with it from full power to 0%. On the charging side, the 44.4Wh capacity can charge most phones to full power about once or twice. You could charge tablets, but that would likely take all the capacity of the power bank.
What matters most is the 30 jump starts because even if you jump-start your car once, you don’t have to recharge the unit.
Jump Starting with the VTOMAN V6
Jump starting works the same as any other type of jump starter. You have to plug the jumper cables into the power bank and then connect the jumper cables to the positive and negative on the battery.
For my testing, I used a 2015 RAV4 with a dead battery. Once I connected the cables to the battery, there was a green light blinking on the adapter for the cables, and then I tried to start my car, and nothing happened.
So, in this case, I was dealing with a fully dead battery. Thankfully, this VTOMAN jump starter has a boost feature button that you can turn on via a button. Once I pressed the boost button on the jump starter, there was a solid green light, and I could start my car.
Even with a lower peak current jump starter, this one featuring a boost feature is awesome because this lets you jump start completely dead batteries such as the one I had. The boost feature allows the jump starter to output as much power as possible to the battery you’re jumps starting.
Also, this VTOMAN V6 jump starter is compatible with 7.0 Liter gas engines and 5.0 Liter Diesel engines.

Charging ports
The charging ports are nothing special, with the power bank having two USB-A ports, one standard 12W port, and an 18W Quick Charge port. So you can fast charge most Android phones using this power bank. I could fast charge my Note 9 with the USB-A Quick Charge port.
You must use the USB-C input port with a 15W recharging speed to recharge the power bank. The USB-C port cannot be used as an output port.
Size and Design
This is a small jump starter; it has a 6.8-inch length, a width of 3.3 inches, and a thickness of 1.2 inches. The jump starter weighs 12 ounces. Included in the box with the cables and the jump starter is a carrying case that lets you place everything inside and can be easily stored in your car.

The 1500A peak current is definitely on the low side, and it’s compatible with 7.0 Liter gas engines and 5.0 Liter Diesel engines; the best part is that it comes with a boost feature that lets you jump-start dead batteries.
