Power Delivery charging is growing rapidly with many of the portable devices out on the market now making use of the charging tech.

The usefulness with PD charging doesn’t stop there though, as you can also use the USB-C port to charge USB-C Power Delivery laptops like the MacBook. Also, there are more powerful laptops with a USB-C port such as the Dell XPS 13 that requires 45W of charging power.

As a result, you can charge the XPS 13 with this charger.

There are quite a lot single port USB-C chargers that use 30W of charging power, but with a higher Power Delivery charging rate, doors are opened with what devices you can charge with it.

Two USB-A Ports

The other two ports are USB-A. One uses Quick Charge 3.0 to fast charge Quick Charge compatible smartphones.

This is where the charger truly excels, because if you have a Power Delivery compatible laptop, then you can use the USB-C port to charge it.

At the same time, if you have a Quick Charge smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S8, S9, Note 9, LG V40, or any of the many Android phones that use Quick Charge, you can also fast charge your phone.

The one other port is a standard port that has a 2.1A charging speed.

Max Output:

With the use of two fast charging ports, are you really able to fast charge a Power Delivery and Quick Charge device at the same time?

Yes.

This is the because the max output of this charger is 74.5W.

With the Power Delivery port outputting 46W, the Quick Charge 18W and the Standard port having about 10W, you are able to use all the ports at their max power, at the same time.

Design

Size and Weight:

This charger is larger and heavier than a regular 3-port USB wall charger, and it makes sense, as there’s more power being used with this charger.

It has a length of 3.9 inches, a width of 3 inches, and a thickness of 1.2 inches. The weight of the charger is 7.6 Ounces.

So it’s not exactly large, but it is large in comparison to a regular wall charger that would use a built-in AC adapter. Whereas this one has a built-in power cord. It’s still portable, but placing it in a pocket isn’t the most comfortable solution.

Functional Components:

When it comes to using this charger, all you have to do is connect the 4-foot power cord to the wall charger, and plug it into an outlet power it. Then it’s ready to use.

That said, it would have been better if there was a Green power light on this charger to signify that the charger is powered and ready to use.

All of the ports are on the same side, and one nice little touch is that each of them has a different color. The Quick Charge port is Orange, the standard port is dark Green and the UBS-C Power Delivery port is light Green.

Build

Structure and Material:

The build quality of this charger is indicative of what you can expect from Aukey products and that means it’s built well.

The charger is entirely plastic, but it not only looks premium but it also feels premium to use. With each of the ports holding on strong to the cables that you place into them.

Tech:

The charger does not get warm even if you’re using all the ports at the same time. This is likely because Aukey implements a larger heatsink with the charger to regulate the heat that’s created.

Reliability

This is a highly reliable charger if you can make use of the Quick Charge and Power Delivery charging. That said, you should be mainly getting this charger for the 46W of Power Delivery charging, and the Quick Charge, second.

If you want to solely use the Quick Charge then it’s best to look for a Quick Charge wall charger that makes use of one port or multiple ports that don’t use Power Delivery.

As the higher price point for this charger is based on the usage of Power Delivery.

Charging power from this charger is great, as the USB-C Power Delivery port is able to supply 46W of power. Another great plus is the charger features Quick Charge and you can use all three ports at their full power, at the same time.

The charger could have used a power indicator to make the charger seem more active and let the user know that it’s ready to use.

The build quality of this charger is great with each port hanging tight to the cables that you place into them.

Reliability:

This is a highly reliable charger if you want to make use of Power Delivery and at the same time use Quick Charge for fast charging a Quick Charge compatible smartphone.

Aukey has definitely created a valuable Power Delivery wall charger that goes further than an average 30W Power Delivery charger, and it even has a Quick Charge port.
