Best Chargers for Surface Go 3

(Last Updated On: October 16, 2021)

The Microsoft Surface Go is an excellent 2 in 1 tablet PC released a couple of years ago, making it possible to use a tiny and relatively powerful PC. Most of the time, consumers looking for small laptops usually have to go with ones that have lower-end specs, but the Surface Go changed that by bringing high-tier specs and a flexible form factor that lets you use the PC in a tablet, laptop, or kickstand form.

The Surface Go has been a success, which is made even more true with the Surface Go 3. The Surface Go 3 comes at the same size as the Go 2 with a screen size of 10.5 inches, but you do get better specs on the higher-tier models. With that said, we honestly don’t recommend going with the lowest spec model that has 4GB of RAM because at this point, 4GB of RAM for any portable device, be it a smartphone, tablet, or PC, is not enough anymore. Your Surface Go 3 will slow down under whatever load it’s on.

Instead, it’s best to go with the higher two-tier models that use 8GB of RAM and have more SSD storage. With the Surface Go 3 now using an 11th Gen Intel Core processor, it also uses more power. Since the Surface Go is all about ease of portability, you should consider using a charger that’s easily as portable.

In this guide, we’re covering chargers compatible to use with the Surface Go 3 that offer optimal charging and easy portability.

SINDOX 20W Mini Power Delivery Wall Charger

One of the best parts of the Surface Go is that it uses a USB-C port for connectivity and charging. Sure, there is a Surface Connect charger included in the box, but that is much less accessible if you want a charger that you can use to charge multiple devices or want a USB-C charger that is smaller and more portable. The other thing is that you don’t need an especially powerful charger for the Surface Go, as an 18W Power Delivery charge rate will be able to charge it.

This SINDOX 20W Power Delivery wall charger is one of the smallest and simplest USB-C chargers that you can use to charge the Surface Go 3. It has a single USB-C Power Delivery port with a 20W charge rate; that said, it will not be able to charge the Surface at its max charging speed. If you want your Surface to charge at its max speed, it’s best to with a 45W Power Delivery charger.

So this SINDOX charger may not provide max charging power, but with all its dimensions being only one inch and meager price make it a good option. SINDOX also has a different model of this charger with two ports, one USB-A port, and a USB-C PD port; that model also has a 20W max output.

SAIL01 65W GaN Dual USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger

On the other hand, using a more powerful Power Delivery wall charger to charge the Surface Go 3 is better for getting it to full power much faster. This SAIL01 Power Delivery wall charger has two USB-C PD ports, with USB-C 2 on this wall charter outputting 65W. If you’re charging two devices with the SAIL01, the USB-C 2 will output 45W. So even if you’re charging one or two devices, you can charge your Surface Go 3 at its max speed via USB-C 2.

USB-C 1 on his wall charger always has an 18W charging speed, so you can fast charge phones or other tablets while charging your Surface from USB-C 2. The SAIL01 wall charger does come with a 3-foot USB-C to USB-C cable that lets you start charging right out of the box.

The wall charger does use GaN, which makes it have tiny sizes, so the charger has a length/width of 2 inches and a thickness of 1. With foldable plugs, this SAIL01 charger matches the ease of the portability of the Surface Go.

Baseus 100W GaN USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger

Going back to a single port wall charger, this Baseus charger has a 100W USB-C Power Delivery port that’s a lot of charging power. 100W of Power Delivery is more than enough to charge the Surface Go at its max charging speed. However, you should consider owning this Baseus wall charger if you own a full-sized USB-C laptop or plan to own other, more robust USB-C chargeable devices.

The main flaw with this Baseus charger is that you can only charge one device at a time, but the charging power of 100W makes it compatible to charge most USB-C chargeable devices. The charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box.

Even with its 100W power output, the wall charger only has a length of 2.6 inches and can practically fit into your pocket.

AOHI 30W Mini GaN Power Delivery Wall Charger

This AOHI wall charger is similar to the SINDOX one that we first mentioned as it’s about the same size, with all of its dimensions being 1 inch. This AOHI wall charger features a single USB-C Power Delivery port that has a 30W output. A 30W charge rate for the Surface Go 3 is a good amount, not quite its max charge rate, but it’s fast enough. The impressive part is that a 30W charging speed is coming from a charger so small, as this charger is smaller than the 5W Apple charger that came with iPhones in the past; it’s just that this one has six times the power.

You can also use a 30W PD charge rate for charging some laptops, but not all. This AOHI wall charger uses LED indicators to show when you’re fast, standard, or trickle charging.

Baseus 20,000mAh 65W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

Portable charging is a must for the Surface Go 3 because it’s a portable PC that is all about taking it nearly everywhere you go. This Baseus power bank has a 20,000mAh power capacity that can charge the Surface Go 3 to full power at least once and have some leftover power to use later.

Charging power is significant because the power bank has a 65W USB-C Power Delivery port that can charge the Surface Go at its max charging speed. A 65W PD charge speed can also charge most USB-C laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Two USB-A Quick Charge 3.0 ports can be used to charge additional devices while you’re charging your Surface.

The Baseus power bank has two input ports that can be used for recharging; there’s the Micro-USB input port, or you can use the USB-C PD port to recharge. We highly recommend using the USB-C port to recharge the power bank because you’re able to recharge at 60W with a 60W Power Delivery wall charger. Just heads-up though, this power bank does not come with a PD wall charger, but it’s very worth using one with this power bank because it can get it back to full power very quickly.

TEGIC Block 30 10,000mAh 30W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

Most power banks on the market look similar, meaning there aren’t ones with a “wow” factor, and that’s not a problem. A power bank is a charger, but if you’re searching for a power bank that does have a very different style and still delivers on charging power, then this TEGIC power bank is a good one to get.

This TEGIC portable charger has a unique design because it has a tempered glass window that shows the inner circuitry of the power bank. Most power banks don’t do this, and it looks incredibly cool. Also, through the tempered glass window, LED power indicators to show the remaining power capacity, and one orange indicator that shows if you’re using fast charging.

Charging from the TEGIC power bank is pretty good, with there being a 30W USB-C Power Delivery port and a USB-A Quick Charge port. You can charge the Surface Go near its max charging speed, and you can fast charge most Android smartphones via the USB-A port. The power bank can be recharged at 30W with a powerful enough Power Delivery wall charger.

With a 10,000mAh power capacity, you’re going to get about a single full charge for the Surface Go 3, or at least near a full charge. The size of the power bank is about the same as a smartphone except for its thickness, so you’re able to fit it into your pocket.

Crave 50,000mAh 60W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

We realize that recommending this Crave power bank may be pushing it because it has a 50,000mAh power capacity, but if you’re looking for a power bank that will last a few days, then this Crave charger is it. Yes, the power bank does have a 50,000mAh capacity that can charge the Surface Go to full power about four times; depending on how heavily you’re using your Surface, this means that you can keep using this charger for many days or a week. This high capacity can also help charge other devices multiple times.

Charging power is on par with the power capacity with the power bank using two USB-C Power Delivery ports and two USB-A Quick Charge ports. One USB-C PD port has an 18W charging speed, and the other has a 60W Power Delivery charge rate. It would help if you used the 60W PD port to charge the Surface Go at its max charging speed.

The power bank comes with a 45W Power Delivery wall charger that you can use to recharge the power bank; you may also use the wall charger to charge your Surface Go directly. The size of this power bank is enormous, and there’s no way you’re going to be able to fit it into your pocket.
