Best Chargers for Surface Go 4 in 2024

(Last Updated On: January 6, 2024)

The Surface Go 4 is a good option if you’re looking for a compact and powerful PC with which you can do some light work. With the Surface Go 4 being more powerful than its predecessor, you’ll find using it in a portable manner much more helpful; that said, MicroSoft’s claim of a 12.5-hour battery might be a stretch. The Surface Go can charge from its Surface Connect or USB-C ports.

The charging is very accessible for the Surface Go 4, with USB-C charging being the most flexible way to charge the 2-in-1 tablet because you can use up to a 30W Power Delivery USB-C charger or higher to charge with. If you’re looking for an extra charger or a replacement one, I’ve chosen a couple of USB-C chargers for the Surface Go 4 that can charge the tablet.

VOLTME 35W 2 Port Charger

The VOLTME 35W charger is one of the bare minimum types of chargers that you can use for charging the Surface Go 4. The VOLTME charger has a 35W max output, and you can fully use the 35W of Power Delivery if you’re charging your Surface Go alone from the charger. Dual charging is also possible for the VOLTME charger, but if you’re charging two devices, the max output also becomes 36W, and each USB-C port can output 18W. 18W of Power Delivery will charge the Surface Go 4, but it will charge slowly.

In my review for the VOLTME 35W charger, I could charge a power bank at 35W when charging it alone, and then when I charged two power banks, each charged at about 18W.

UGREEN Nexode 45W 2 Port Charger

The UGREEN Nexode charger is a better option if you want more charging power and to charge two devices. The UGREEN charger has a 45W max output, and you can fully use the 45W of Power Delivery if you’re charging a single device; this can charge the Surface Go 4 faster. When charging two devices, the power split between the ports becomes 25W and 20W. If you’re charging two devices, I recommend having your Surface Go 4 plugged in first because the device plugged in first will get 25W. So you can charge your Surface Go faster during single port charging and still pretty fast when charging two devices. In reviewing the UGREEN 45W charger, I could still charge my Lenovo laptop and fast charge my Note 9 simultaneously. VOLTME 65W 3 Port Charger

The VOLTME 65W 3 port charger has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. This a solid charger for fast charging your Surface Go 4 whether you have it charging alone or if you have other devices charging simultaneously. You get 65W of Power Delivery via the USB-C 1 or 2 ports when charging one device. Then, for multi-device charging, the USB-C 1 port will output 45W, which can still fast charge your Surface Go while you charge another one or two devices. In my review of the VOLTME 65W charger, I could charge my Lenovo laptop and two phones. Check out my video review to learn more about the VOLTME 65W 3 Port Charger’s features.

Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger

The Baseus 100W charger may be a bit of a stretch to recommend for charging the Surface Go 4, but it’s a charger that is more meant for future-proofing for devices you already own or will own. The Baseus 100W charger can output 100W of Power Delivery from its USB-C 1 or 2 ports when charging one device at a time. 100W of Power Delivery is enough to fast charge the Surface Go 4. What matters most is that if you’re charging four devices simultaneously, the USB-C 1 port can output 60W of Power Delivery, which can fast charge your Surface Go while you charge another three devices.

In my review of the Baseus 100W 4 port charger, I could charge my laptop, a power bank, and two phones simultaneously; I also found that the charger comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. Watch my video review for an in-depth look at the Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger.

UGREEN 145W Power Bank

If you need to charge your Surface Go 4 more easily, consider getting a power bank. The UGREEN 145W power bank is one of the market’s most powerful Power Delivery power banks. The UGREEN charger has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port, and the most impressive part about this power bank is that USB-C 1 can output 100W of Power Delivery; at the same time, you can use the 45W of Power Delivery via USB-C 2. This makes it possible to fast charge your Surface Go 4 and charge another laptop from the other USB-C port. Most power banks cannot charge two laptops at the same time.

The UGREEN 145W power bank also has a 25,000mAh battery capacity; in my review of the UGREEN 145W power bank, I could recharge it at nearly 60W via the USB-C 1 port. The USB-C 2 port recharges the power bank at 45W. See the UGREEN 145W Power Bank in my video review for comprehensive insights.

Final thoughts about my choice of chargers for the Surface Go 4

The Surface Go 4 is a welcome upgrade to the Surface lineup. The Surface Go isn’t meant for heavy-duty purposes, but if you require a lightweight, high-quality, and portable PC, then the Surface Go 4 is a solid option. The way you charge the Surface is also a great feature of the tablet because you can still take advantage of lower wattage Power Delivery chargers such as the VOLTME 35W charger that can still charge the Surface Go 4 during dual charging, or you can opt for a 100W Baseus charger that can fast charge the Surface. In contrast, you charge a few other devices. The Surface Connect port is nice for charging, too, but your options regarding what charger you can use are limited.
