Best Chargers for Surface Laptop Studio 2 in 2024

(Last Updated On: December 18, 2023)

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is a worthy successor with higher-end specs and is coming at a reasonable time when you might consider upgrading or jumping in on the Studio 2. The core design of the Laptop Studio 2 remains the same, with it being a 2-in-1 laptop tablet; however, what makes it incredible is that it’s all one piece.

Two main Surface Laptop Studio 2 models are the Intel Iris Graphics model with a 102W charger and the NVIDIA graphics model with a 120W charger. The great part about the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is that you can charge it via USB-C with a powerful enough Power Delivery charger. If you’ve lost your original charger, want a replacement, or want an extra charger that lets you charge multiple devices, I’ve got you covered. I’ve chosen some of the best Surface Laptop Studio 2 chargers.

UGREEN 140W 3 Port Charger

The most reliable type of third-party charger for the Surface Laptop Studio 2 is a 140W charger. These chargers have high power and multiple ports that you can use to charge the Surface and other devices simultaneously. The UGREEN 140W charger can output optimal charging power when charging one device at a time; the USB-C 1 port can output 140W when charging one device, the USB-C 2 port can output 100W, and the USB-A port can output 22.5W no matter how many devices you charge at the same time.

So, if you want the fastest charge rate for the Surface Laptop Studio 2, I recommend charging it alone from USB-C 1 or 2 on the UGREEN 140W charger. However, you can charge from USB-C 1 or 2, and the USB-A port simultaneously, and the USB-C port will output 100W. Charging from all three ports results in the USB-C 1 port outputting 65W. 65W of Power Delivery for charging your Surface isn’t the fastest, but it will work. In my review for the UGREEN Nexode 140W charger, I could charge my laptops and fast charge two phones simultaneously. The UGREEN charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. Watch my video review of the UGREEN 140W 3 Port Charger.

KOVOL 140W 2 Port Charger

The KOVOL 140W charger is more minimal than most 140W chargers because this one has two ports: USB-C and USB-A. You can use the total 140W of Power Delivery from the USB-C port if you’re charging one device at a time, and when dual charging, the USB-C port outputs 120W while the USB-A port outputs 18W. So even though there are fewer ports on this KOVOL charger, you get more power allocated to the USB-C port. In my review of this KOVOL charger, I could fast charge my laptop and phone simultaneously. The KOVOL charger has no cable but is priced lower than most other 140W chargers.

Baseus 140W 3 Port Charger

The Baseus 140W charger is similar to the UGREEN 140W charger I recommended. However, it’s able to allocate more charging power to USB-C 1 when charging multiple devices at the same time. You can get 140W from USB-C 1, USB-C 2 can output 100W, and the USB-A port can output 60W when you charge only one device. What makes the Baseus 140W charger worth getting for your Surface Laptop Studio 2 is that when you charge three devices simultaneously, the USB-C 1 port will output 100W, USB-C 2 will output 20W, and the USB-A port will output 18W.

So when you charge three devices, you can still fast charge your Surface Laptop Studio via the USB-C 1 port while fast charging a tablet or phone from the other two ports. This charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. In my review for the Baseus 140W charger, I could charge one power bank at 100W while charging another power bank at 20W and fast charge my phone. Watch my video review of the Baseus 140W 3 Port Charger.

Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger

The Baseus 100W 4 port charger is another great option for charging the Surface Laptop Studio 2. The charger has a lower max output but can be useful if you charge three other devices. You can use the 100W of Power Delivery via the USB-C 1 or 2 ports when charging one device at a time, which can fast charge your Surface Laptop Studio.

You also have the option of charging four devices at the same time, and USB-C 1 will output 60W; 60W of Power Delivery for charging your Surface may not be enough to fast charge it; it will charge it slower, but you get the option to charge other devices at the same time. The Baseus 100W charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. In my review for the Basues 100W charger, I could charge my laptop, a power bank, and two phones. UGREEN Nexode 300W Charging Station

If you want the most power that charging offers, the UGREEN Nexode 300W charging station may be what you’re looking for. I recommend this charger only if you want to charge your Surface Laptop Studio 2 and other devices simultaneously. To give you an idea of the power, you can fast charge your Surface Laptop Studio from USB-C 1 and charge another four devices simultaneously. In my review for the UGREEN 300W charging station, I could charge four power banks and fast charge my Note 9 simultaneously. Watch my video review of the UGREEN Nexode 300W Charging Station.

Powdeom 150W mini Power Station

If you’re portable with the Surface Laptop Studio and want to use your original charger and a USB-C port, the Powdeom 150W mini power station is a good choice. This mini power station features a single 150W AC outlet that can power the original charger that came with your Surface Laptop, or you can opt to use the 65W Power Delivery USB-C port on the power station. In my review of the Powdeom power station, I could power my Lenovo laptop’s original charger, and I could charge my laptop directly from the USB-C port. Watch my video review of the Powdeom 150W mini Power Station.

UGREEN 145W Power Bank

Most power banks are not able to charge two laptops at the same time, but the UGREEN 145W power bank can. The USB-C 1 port on the UGREEN power bank can always output 100W, and you can use 45W from the USB-C 2 port simultaneously. So you can charge your Surface Laptop Studio 2 from the USB-C 1 port and another laptop from the USB-C 2 port. However, when charging two devices simultaneously, the USB-C 2 and the USB-A port share a 15W output, but the USB-C 1 port continues to output 100W.

In my review of the UGREEN 145W power bank, I found that the fastest way to recharge its 25,000mAh battery capacity is via the USB-C 1 port because it has a 65W recharge speed. Watch my video review of the UGREEN 145W Power Bank.

Final thoughts about my choice of Chargers for the Surface Laptop Studio 2

The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is an elegantly designed and powerful device from Microsoft that will fit most creative needs. If you’re heavily using the Studio 2, you’ll find that it drains the battery quickly, and thankfully, the use of USB-C charging expands your options on how you want to charge it. Surface Connect charging is excellent and has its place, but having a USB-C charger handy is a must for more versatility.
