As an enthusiast of both iOS and Android, I appreciate each platform’s unique features. However, iPhones often win me over, especially with innovations like MagSafe, introduced with the iPhone 12. MagSafe uses a magnetic ring in the phone’s back for faster wireless charging and supports various accessories, from car mounts to PopSocket PopGrips.
Despite its advantages, Android hasn’t adopted an equivalent to MagSafe. This gap has prompted accessory manufacturers to develop compatible products. With MagSafe’s growing popularity, brands like Mophie, Anker, and Spigen have created adapters, making MagSafe accessories usable with Android phones. For instance, my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 can work with MagSafe chargers because I have a magnetic at the back of it.
Currently, I recommend these MagSafe adapters:
Originally, these were for making non-MagSafe cases compatible, but they also adapted Android phones to MagSafe technology. There’s a limitation, though: the varied placement of Android’s Qi charging pads may hinder effective wireless charging with these adapters. A workaround is attaching the adapter to a slim phone case instead of directly to the phone. Though adding an adapter might seem inconvenient, the enhanced functionality via MagSafe is a compelling benefit.
Also, in case you want MagSafe chargers that would work great for Android phones with a MagSafe adapter at the back, I recommend these:
