Best Chargers for Asus Chromebook CX9 in 2024

(Last Updated On: December 17, 2023)

When most consumers think of the Chromebook, it’s not always a very powerful laptop with all the top-tier specs they’d want, but that has changed with the Asus Chromebook CX9. The Chromebook CX9 from Asus brings more premium specs than most are going to find more than enough.

If you already own or are planning to own the Asus Chromebook CX9, you should also consider owning a USB-C charger that is small and portable, as the laptop itself can quickly be taken anywhere. In this guide, we’re covering different types of chargers that you can charge your CX9 with for a superior charging experience than the one included in the box or if you want an extra charger, just in case.

Baseus 140W 3 Port Charger

The Baseus 140W charger and other similar ones are the most reliable chargers for charging your Acer Chromebook CX9. The Basues 140W charger has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port; you can use the total 140W of Power Delivery if you’re charging one device from USB-C 1, while USB-C 2 will output 100W when charging one device.

If you’re charging from all three parts simultaneously, the USB-C 1 port on the Basues charger can still output 100W of Power Delivery; this enables you to fast charge your Chromebook CX9 while fast charging two phones or tablets. In my review of the Baseus 140W charger, I could charge a power bank at 100W while charging another power bank and fast charging a phone; during my review, I could also charge my laptop and two phones. The Basus 140W charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable. Watch my video review of the Baseus 140W 3 Port Charger.

VOLTME 140W 3 Port Charger

This VOLTME 140W charger is similar to the Baseus 140W charger but has more balanced charging. When charging one device, you can get 140W of Power Delivery from the USB-C 1 or 100W from the USB-C 2 port. What may make the VOLTME charger more worth getting is that if you’re charging from the two USB-C ports simultaneously, each USB-C port outputs 65W of Power Delivery, making it possible to charge two laptops simultaneously.

Also, when charging three devices, the USB-C 1 port will output 65W, while USB-C 2 outputs 45W, making it possible to fast charge your Chromebook CX9 while you charge another laptop. In my review of the VOLTME 140W charger, I could charge a power bank at 100W, fast charge my Lenovo laptop, and still fast charge my Note 9. However, I did not find a USB-C cable in the box with the charger. Watch my video review of the VOLTME 140W 3 Port Charger.

Oraimo 120W Charging with AC Outlets

If you want the option of using the original charger that came with your Chromebook and charging directly from USB-C, then this Oraimo 120W charging station is a great choice. The Oraimo charger has USB-C ports and a single USB-A port, and the maximum output of the charging section is 120W. You can use any of the USB-C ports on the charger to charge your Chromebook CX9, but you also have the option to use the original charger that came with your CX9 because there are two AC outlets on the Oramio charger that have a combined output of 1250W.

In my review of the Oramio 120W charger, I could power a heater and charge from all four ports at the same time. The Oraimo charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable. Watch my video review of the Oraimo 120W Charging with AC Outlets.

Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger

Just like the other Baseus wall charger I recommended, this Baseus 100W charger also allocates more charging power to the USB-C 1 port when charging multiple devices. When charging one device, you can get 100W of Power Delivery from USB-C 1 or  2 ports. Then, if you’re charging four devices simultaneously, the USB-C 1 port will output 60W of Power Delivery; this makes it possible to charge your CX9 while you charge another three devices.

In reviewing the Baseus 100W charger, I could fast charge my Lenovo laptop, charge a power bank at 20W, and standard charge two phones simultaneously. The charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. Watch my video review of the Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger.

UGREEN 145W Power Bank

If you want portable power that lets you charge your Chromebook no matter where you are, the UGREEN 145W power bank can charge most USB-C laptops. UGREEN power bank has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port; the USB-C 1 port outputs 100W of Power Delivery at all times, and the better part is that you can use 100W via USB-C 1 and 45W via the USB-C 2 port at the same time. So, you can technically charge two laptops simultaneously with the power bank.

In my review of the UGREEN 145W power bank, I recharged it using the USB-C 1 port to get the fastest recharging speed. Watch my video review of the UGREEN 145W Power Bank.

Baseus Blade 100W Power Bank

The Baseus Blade is another option for charging the Chromebook while you’re on the move because this power bank has a 100W Power Delivery output. However, I know that the charger has two USB-C and two USB-A ports, but to use the total 100W output, you should charge your Chrmoeboo alone. In my review of the Baseus 100W power bank, I found a screen at the top of the charger that shows the voltage and amperage, so you can technically see the charging speed of your Chromebook when charging it from the Baseus power bank. Final thoughts about my choice of chargers for the Asus Chromebook CX9

The Asus Chromebook CX9 can fit most consumer needs regarding general work; you could even do some light gaming on the laptop if you set your expectations right. With heavy usage does come serious battery drain, and that’s why the use of USB-C charging is so great; you can use a VOLTME 140W charger to charge your Chromebook and charge other devices, or you can use the Oraimo charger and still have the option to use the original charger that came with your Chromebook CX9.
