Best Chargers for Asus Chromebook CX9

(Last Updated On: October 14, 2021)

When most consumers think of the Chromebook, it’s not always a very powerful laptop with all the top-tier specs they’d want, but that has changed with the release of the Asus Chromebook CX9. The Chromebook CX9 from Asus brings more premium specs that most are going to find more than enough, and it comes at a reasonable price considering what the laptop features.

If you’re wondering what makes the Chromebook CX9 so great, it has an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of DDR4X RAM; Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, and up to 512GB or 1TB of SSD storage. With all these powerful specs, you’re going to be able to do a lot with your Chromebook, from doing daily tasks for work to using graphics artist programs such as Photoshop or even gaming. The best part is that you get all these high-end specs with a chassis made of Aluminum Alloy, yet the Chromebook CX9 only weighs 2.2 pounds.

If you already own or are planning to own the Asus Chromebook CX9, you should also consider owning a USB-C charger that is small and portable as the laptop itself can quickly be taken anywhere. In this guide, we’re covering different types of chargers that you’re able to charge your CX9 with for a superior charging experience than the one included in the box, or if you want an extra charger just in case.

Baseus 100W GaN USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger

This Baseus wall charger is hands-down the go-to charger for your Asus Chromebook CX9 if you want max charging power; that’s because the single port on this charger has a 100W PD charge rate. With a 100W Power Delivery charging speed, it’s also a great way to futureproof your charging needs in the future for when you own other USB-C laptops.

You can still fast charge tablets and smartphones using this Baseus wall charger, and don’t worry; the 100W output will not damage smaller devices. Of course, the flaw with this charger is that you can only charge a single device, but the good news is that you can start using the single USB-C port right out of the box because it comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable.

The charger uses GaN, which makes it incredibly small with a length of 2 inches; this Baseus wall charger is much smaller than most charging bricks with lower power output. To add, there are also foldable plugs that make portability easier.

SAIL01 65W GaN USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger

If you’re looking for a more cost-effective and powerful charging solution that is still portable, there’s the SAIL01 65W wall charger. The SAIL01 has two USB-C Power Delivery ports labeled USB-C 1 and USB-C 2. The USB-C 2 port is the more powerful port with a 65W output when charging a single device; however, when charging two devices simultaneously, USB-C 2 outputs 45W. A 65W and a 45W are still able to charge the Asus Chromebook CX9.

USB-C 1 will always output 18W, whether you’re charging a single device or two devices; this enables you to fast charge a smartphone or tablet while you’re setting your Chromebook CX9. USB-C 2 on this wall charger also features Programmable Power Supply (PPS) that can super fast charge the Samsung Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S21 at 25W.

Included with the SAIL01 65W charger is a USB-C to USB-C cable that lets you start charging right out of the box. The charger features GaN that enables it to have a length/width of just 2 inches and a thickness of 1 inch while still being able to output an ample amount of power for your Chromebook CX9.

UGREEN 100W 4-Port GaN USB-C Power Delivery Charger

This is another 100W Power Delivery wall charger, but this UGREEN charger is very different than the Baseus one because it uses four ports. You’re able to use the total 100W Power Delivery charge rate if you’re only charging from USB-C 1, while charging from multiple ports simultaneously results in charging power being split between the ports. That said, no matter how many devices you’re charging, you can charge your Chromebook CX9 at a fast charging speed.

There are three USB-C PD ports and one USB-A port that uses Quick Charge, but that depends on how many devices you’re charging. Charging two devices via the USB-C ports results in a 65W and 30W split; even if you’re charging from all four ports USB-C 1 outputs 45W, UBS-C 2 outputs 30W, USB-C 3 outputs 10W and the USB-A port will output 10W. So even if you’re charging four devices, Asus Chromebook CX9 can still charge at a reasonably fast rate.

Even with its 100W max power output and the use of four USB-A ports, this UGREEN charger is tiny with its built-in foldable AC adapter.

Crave PowerPack 50,000mAh 60W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

Since the Chromebook CX9 is one of the most influential and portable Chromebook laptops, you’re going to want to take it with you for work, school, travel, or basically, any other reason where you’ll be able to use the laptop. If that’s the case, owning a power bank to charge your Chromebook when you’re out and don’t have easy access to an outlet is your best option to recharge when you’re low on power.

A power bank that you use to charge your Chromebook CX9 should feature a high power capacity and enough charging power. This Crave PowerPack portable charger has lots of both.

The Crave PowerPack has a massive 50,000mAh power capacity, and this is likely the highest capacity power bank that you can find that doesn’t have an AC outlet. With a 50,000mAh power capacity, you’ll be able to charge your Chromebook CX9 to full power at least two times, and depending on how much you’re using and charging your laptop, you may be able to charge it to full power three times. The high capacity can also be used for charging other devices you may own.

Charging power is not lacking either, as the power bank has two USB-C PD ports and two USB-A Quick Charge 3.0 ports. One of the USB-C ports has an 18W PD charge rate, and the other has a 60W PD charge rate. In his case, you’d use the 60W USB-C port to charge the Chromebook. The 18W USB-C port is best to fast charge smartphones and tablets.

The Crave power bank comes with a 45W PD wall charger that can recharge the power bank at 45W via the 60W USB-C port. You can also use the included wall charger to charge your Chromebook.

This Crave PowerPack is much larger than a regular power bank simply because of its massive power capacity. There’s no way you can fit this charger into your pocket.

MAXOAK AC10 99Wh AC Outlet Power Bank with USB-C PD

This MAXOAK portable charger is a hybrid between a power bank and a power station because it has an AC outlet. The AC outlet has a 100W power output, so you can always plug in the charger that came with your Chromebook CX9 and charge it that way. You may also use the 45W USB-C Power Delivery port on the other side of the power bank.

Two USB-A Quick Charge 3.0 ports can be used to fast charge Andoird smartphones. The MAXOAK portable charger has a 26,756mAh power capacity that is significantly lower than the Crave power bank that we mentioned previously; that said, it’s still enough to get at last one full charge for your Chromebook even while you’re using it.

The MAXOAK power bank comes with a 30W USB-C Power Delivery for recharging the power bank. In terms of portability, this MAXOAK charger is a bit larger than the Crave portable charger simply because it uses an AC outlet, requiring more circuitry, taking up space.

Baseus 20,000mAh 65W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

One of the better options for portable charging, this Baseus power bank is indeed pocketable if you’ve got a slightly larger pocket because it has a length of 6 inches, a width of 2.5 inches, and a thickness of 1 inch. So you’re more likely to be taking this power bank with you daily.

Even with its smaller size, charging power is not lacking as the power bank has a 65W USB-C Power Delivery port to charge your Chromebook and two USB-A Quick Charge ports. You can recharge the power bank via teh Micro-USB input or the USB-C PD port; we recommend recharging via the USB-C port because it can be recharged at 60W, which is very fast for a 20,000mAh power bank.

Also, the 20,000mAh power capacity is the lowest capacity power bank we’re recommending, but you’re still able to end up with a single full charge for the Asus Chromebook.

Design-wise, this Baseus power bank has an LCD that shows the remaining power capacity and charging status.

RAVPower 30,000mAh 90W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

This is one of the most useful Power Delivery portable chargers that we’ve reviewed. This RAVPower portable charger has a high 30,000mAh power capacity and a 90W USB-C Power Delivery port. A 30,000mAh power capacity is easily enough power to charge the CX9 to full power at least and will still have some leftover to use later.

The 90W USB-C Power Delivery charge rate can fast charge your CX9 and fast charge most other USB-C laptops on the market. The power bank also has a USB-A Quick Charge port, and when charging two devices simultaneously, the USB-C PD port outputs 65W. That’s not too bad of an output drop, considering that you can still fast-charge an Android smartphone and charge your Chromebook.

You can recharge the power bank at 60W, but you have to provide your own power delivery wall charger. The RAVPower portable charger does include a USB-C to USB-C cable.
