Best Chargers for Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (2022) in 2024

(Last Updated On: January 3, 2024)

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (2022) is an affordable yet powerful gaming laptop featuring an RTX 3050 series card, a 120Hz screen, and other notable specs. It comes with a 135W charger for Lenovo’s proprietary port. However you can also charge it through the USB-C port, but this requires a specific 100W Power Delivery USB-C charger, as lower-powered chargers won’t work. The USB-C port also serves as a Display and Power Delivery 3.0 port. For charging the IdeaPad Gaming 3, I recommend several 100W or higher chargers, which are effective alternatives to the original charger, though they generally require charging the laptop independently.

In case you’re wondering what specific Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 model I’m talking about, here is the Amazon product page link and the Best Buy link.

Baseus 140W 3 Port Charger

The Baseus 140W charger will be one of the most reliable 140W chargers because it can allocate more charging power to its USB-C 1 port when charging multiple devices simultaneously. This Baseus charger has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port; the full 140W of the charger can be used if you’re charging from USB-C 1 alone, or 100W can be used if you’re charging from USB-C 2 alone.

The reason why this Baseus charger is best suited for charging the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (2022) is that even if you’re charging three devices at the same time, the USB-C 1 port continues to output 100W of Power Delivery, while the USB-C 2 port outputs 20W and the USB-A port outputs 18W. In reviewing the Baseus 140W charger, I could fast charge my Lenovo Flex 5 laptop and simultaneously fast charge two phones. The Basues 140W charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. KOVOL 140W 2 Port Charger

This KOVOL 140W charger is more on the minimal side with its ports because it has a single USB-C and USB-A port. However, this is good because it ensures optimal charging for the IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop. Single port charging enables the USB-C port to output 140W of Power Delivery, while dual charging results in the USB-C port outputting 120W and the USB-A port outputting 18W. So you can charge a phone while charging the Gaming 3 laptop. In reviewing the KOVOL 140W charger, I could charge my Lenovo laptop and fast charge my Note 9 simultaneously. This charger does not come with a cable.

UGREEN Nexode 140W 3 Port Charger

The UGREEN Nexode 140W charger is another option for a powerful charger with multiple ports. This UGREEN charger is very similar to the Baseus 140W charger. However, the power allocation is not the same, and you can’t charge three devices simultaneously and still expect to charge your IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop.

Yes, you can charge your IdeaPad Gaming 3 when charging alone from either USB-C 1 or 2 because that gives you either 140W or 100W of Power Delivery, but if you charge from the two USB-C ports at the same time, then they each output 65W of Power Delivery. Charging from all three ports further splits the power. So, if you are getting this charger, I recommend charging your Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 from either of the USB-C ports or charging from one USB-C port and the USB-A port; this way, the USB-C port you’re using still gets a 100W output.

In my review of the UGREEN 140W charger, I found a 240W USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. Watch my detailed video review of the UGREEN Nexode 140W 3-Port Charger and its suitability for the IdeaPad Gaming 3.

UGREEN Nexode 300W Charging Station

If you want to charge your IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop while charging a few other laptops and devices, that is possible with the UGREEN Nexode 300W charging station. This UGREEN charger has a 300W max output, four USB-C ports, and a single USB-A port. To show you how powerful this UGREEN charger is, you can charge the IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop via the USB-C 1 port and potentially charge another two laptops and two phones or tablets. This charger does have a higher price, but it can be worth it for some.

In reviewing the UGREEN 300W charging station, I could charge four power banks at nearly their max speed and still fast charge my Note 9. Don’t miss my video review of the UGREEN Nexode 300W Charging Station to see its power in action with multiple devices.

Baseus Blade 100W Power Bank

The Bausees Blade power bank can output 100W for Power Delivery, and it has two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports. I recommend charging the Lenovo IdeaPad alone from this Baseus power bank to use 100W of Power Delivery. In my review of the Baseus power bank, I could see the charging speed of the device I was charging via the screen at the top, so you can quickly see how fast your gaming laptop is charging in real-time, which is pretty cool. UGREEN 145W Power Bank

This UGREEN 145W power bank is easily one of the most powerful PD power banks, mainly because the charger has a 145W max output. The USB-C 1 port on this UGREEN power bank always has 100W output, which ensures you can always charge your IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop; simultaneously, you can use 45W of Power Delivery via the USB-C 2 port. Most power banks don’t have this high of a max output, which makes this UGREEN power bank so reliable. Also, in my review of the UGREEN 145W power bank, I could recharge it at nearly 65W via the USB-C 1 port, which helps refill its 25,000mAh battery. Explore the high-capacity charging of the UGREEN 145W Power Bank in my video review, especially for the IdeaPad Gaming 3.

EcoFlow River 2 Power Station

It might seem ridiculous to recommend a power station to charge your Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (2022), but it’s not only reliable, but you can charge your IdeaPad with its original 135W charger. This River 2 power station has a decent 256Wh battery for a power station and two AC outlets that share a 300W output. So, the original charger of the IdeaPad can be powered from this power station.

Moreover, you can use this River 2 power station, which has a UPS, meaning that you can have the River 2 plugged into a power strip or wall outlet via its AC cable. If the power goes out, the charger pulls power directly from the power station. The UPS feature can be helpful when you’re playing a single-player game and want to ensure your laptop stays running. In my review for the River 2 power station, I could easily power two crockpots simultaneously with a combined output of 300W. Final thoughts about my choice of Chargers for the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (2022)

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (2022) is a solid gaming laptop with great specs and an even better price. All the high-end specs aside, though, I’m most impressed with the accessible USB-C charging. Yes, you’d use the included 135W charger for optimal charging, but you also have the option to use a USB-C charger. But you must ensure it can output 100W of Power Delivery to use the USB-C charging on the IdeaPad Gaming 3 (2022).
