Best Power Banks for Surface Laptop 3 in 2024

(Last Updated On: January 7, 2024)

Laptops, known for their portability, have evolved to offer greater convenience in charging. Previously, charging required a DC brick and an AC outlet, but now, most laptops, including the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3, use USB-C ports. The Surface Laptop 3 stands out with its high-end specifications and appealing design, akin to Apple or Samsung products. Its USB-C and USB-A ports allow for versatile charging options, including Power Delivery chargers.

The slim and lightweight design of the Surface Laptop 3 makes it ideal for charging with a power bank. Numerous USB-C Power Delivery power banks can charge devices like the Surface Laptop 3, providing the freedom to charge without needing an AC outlet and reducing anxiety over low battery levels.

This guide focuses on power banks suitable for charging the Surface Laptop 3. These power banks, equipped with USB-C Power Delivery, offer various charging speeds and capacities to suit different needs.

UGREEN 145W Power Bank

The UGREEN 145W power bank is one of the most reliable power banks you can own for charging laptops in general. Few power banks can do what this UGREEN one can do; this charger has two USB-C ports and a USB-A port, and you can use 100W of Power Delivery via USB-C 1 from the power bank at all times. 100W of Power Delivery via the USB-C 1 port can fast charge the Surface Laptop 3, but what is most impressive is that you can use 45W of Power Delivery from the USB-C 2 port simultaneously. So you can charge your Surface Laptop and another laptop simultaneously with the UGREEN power bank. Few power banks on the market cannot charge two laptops simultaneously; this one can.

In my review of the UGREEN 145W power bank, I found that the fastest way to recharge it is from the USB-C 1 port because it has a 65W recharge speed. The USB-C 2 port has a slower 45W recharge speed, and the only reason you would use the USB-C 2 port for recharging is if you’re charging from the USB-C 1 port and recharge from the USB-C 2 port because the UGREEN power bank features pass-through charging. Watch my video review of the UGREEN 145W Power Bank for a comprehensive look at its features and capabilities.

Baseus 65W 20,000mAh Power Bank

The Baseus 65W power bank is a solid option for charging your Surface Laptop 3, and similar to the UGREEN power bank, you can still charge your Surface while charging another device. The Baseus power bank has a single USB-C port and two USB-A ports. The USB-C port has a 65W Power Delivery output that can charge the Surface Laptop 3; if you charge two devices simultaneously, the USB-C port will output 45W. This makes it possible to charge your Surface and a phone from the USB-A port on the power bank. Then, if you’re charging three devices, the USB-C port will output 20W, and you can’t charge your Surface Laptop 3.

The Baseus power bank has two options for recharging: a Micro-USB port and a USB-C port. In my review of the Baseus 65W power bank, the USB-C port was much faster for recharging the power bank because it had a 60W recharge speed, while the micro-USB input port only had an 18W recharge rate.

Baseus Blade 100W Power Bank

The Baseus Blade 100W power bank is one of the most popular power banks on the market, likely because the charger has a 100W Power Delivery output from either USB-C port. Yes, this power bank does feature two USB-C ports, and it even has two USB-A ports; however, you can only use the 100W of Power Delivery if you’re charging a single device at a time. So, if you want to charge your Surface Laptop 3 from the Baseus Blade power bank, I recommend charging it alone. The option to charge four devices simultaneously with the Baseus power bank is there.

In my review for the Baseus Blade 100W power bank, I could see the charging speed of my laptop on the top screen because the charger’s screen shows the voltage and amperage of the device you’re charging. So you can see how fast you’re charging your Surface Laptop from the power bank. Powdeom 150W Power Station

The Powdeom 150W power station is an excellent portable power option if you want to use the original charger that came with your Surface Laptop 3 because the Powdeom power station has a single 150W AC outlet. You can also opt to use the 65W Power Delivery USB-C port on the power station for charging your Surface. In my review for the Powdeom 150W mini power station, I could use my Lenovo laptop’s original charger and the USB-C port on the power station for charging my laptop, too. Discover the Powdeom 150W Power Station in my video review, focusing on its unique features and versatility.

STATIK 65W Power Bank

The STATIK 65W power bank is a bit of an odd charger because the single port charging of the power bank is excellent. Still, when charging multiple devices, the maximum output of the power bank drops drastically. You can use 65W of Power Delivery from the USB-C port when charging one device, which can charge the Surface Laptop 3. However, if you charge multiple devices simultaneously, the maximum output of the STATIK power bank drops to 15W, and you can’t charge your Surface Laptop.

Also, in my review of the STATIK 65W power bank, the recharging for it is accessible because it has three input ports, but I always recommend that you use the USB-C port to recharge from because it has a 60W recharge speed. In my video review, I delve into the STATIK 65W Power Bank details, examining its design and charging power.

Crave PowerPack 50,000mAh Power Bank

This Crave portable charger is one of the highest-capacity Power Delivery power banks. The charger has a 50,000mAh power capacity, which is a ton of power even when charging the Surface Laptop. Depending on your usage, you can use this Crave power bank for about a week or longer without recharging it. A 50,000mAh power capacity can also be useful for charging other devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to full power while charging your laptop.

The Crave PowerPack has two USB-C Power Delivery ports and two Quick Charge 3.0 USB-A ports. One of the USB-C PD ports has an 18W output, and the other has a 60W output. So, it’s best to use the 60W port for charging the Surface Laptop 3 and the 18W PD port for fast-charging smartphones.

You can recharge the power bank at 45W via the 60W USB-C port, and you can do so right out of the box because this power bank comes with a 45W Power Delivery wall charger and a USB-C cable. The power bank is huge and heavy, portable still, but you won’t want to hold it for long. In my review of the Crave PowerPack 50,000mAh power bank, I could charge my Surface Go and three phones simultaneously.

Final thoughts about my choice of Power Banks for Surface Laptop 3

The Surface Laptop 3 is a powerful and easily portable device; because of that, you may find yourself being portable with the laptop and running out of power unexpectedly. If that’s the case, owning a power bank will erase any battery anxiety issues when using the Surface throughout your day. The UGREEN 145W power bank is one of the more all-out types that can charge your Surface Laptop and another laptop simultaneously, while the Basus Blade is meant for charging your Surface only.
