Best Chargers for Surface Laptop 4 in 2024

(Last Updated On: December 28, 2023)

Laptops have significantly evolved, offering high performance once limited to desktops. The Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 exemplifies this advancement. It comes in various configurations, including AMD Ryzen 5 4680U, Intel Core i5, and the top-tier Intel Core i7 models. Impressively, even the base model boasts 8GB of RAM, moving away from the outdated 4GB standard.

The Surface Laptop 4 features SSD storage, with up to 1TB in higher models. These specs make it suitable for everyday tasks, media consumption, and photo editing, especially with the 32GB RAM variant. Multitasking is seamless, but its battery life may vary. Microsoft claims up to 16 hours, though actual performance depends on usage.

The laptop comes with a Surface Connect charger, an older charging method. A USB-C charger is recommended for more convenience, as detailed in the guide.

VOLTME 100W 3 Port Charger

The first charger I want to recommend is this VOLTME 100W charger. The charger has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. You can use the total 100W of Power Delivery from USB-C 1 or 2 when charging a single device at a time, and this is more than enough power to charge your Surface Laptop 4 at its max speed.

When charging two devices from the USB-C ports, the USB-C 1 port will output 65W, and the USB-C 2 port will output 30W; this makes it possible to charge your Surface while fast charging a phone or tablet. Three port charging power allocation is also pretty good because the USB-C 1 port will output 65W, while the USB-C 2 and the USB-A ports will output 12W each.

So even when charging three devices, you can still fast charge your Surface Laptop 4 from C-1, but the other two ports will have a standard charge rate. For a detailed analysis of the VOLTME 100W 3 Port Charger, check out my comprehensive review article or watch my video review.

NOVOO 67W 2 Port Charger

On the more simple side is this NOVOO 67W 2 port charger; the charger has USB-C and USB-A ports. The USB-C 1 port has a 67W Power Delivery output for single port charging, while the USB-A port has a 50W output for compatible devices, but not for the Surface Laptop 4. So you can fast charge your Surface from the USB-C port when charging it alone from this NOVOO charger.

When dual charging happens, the USB-C port drops to a 45W output, and the USB-A port has an 18W output. You can still charge your Surface Laptop with a 45W Power Delivery output, but it will charge a bit slower. This NOVOO charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. UGREEN Nexode 140W 3 Port Charger

140W chargers like this UGREEN Nexode charger are the ultimate type of laptop charger for charging any other devices simultaneously. This charger has a 140W max output, and you can fully use the 140W output when charging a single device from USB-C 1, and the 140W PD output is more than enough to charge your Surface Laptop 4, and it is more useful for charging certain Macbook laptops.

That said, the main reason for getting this charger is that you can easily fast charge your Surface Laptop while simultaneously charging other devices. Each USB-C port can output 65W for dual USB-C charging, making it possible to fast charge two Surface Laptops simultaneously if you want to.

Regarding charging three devices simultaneously, the USB-A port always has a 22.5W charging speed, the USB-C 2 port has a 45W output, and the USB-C 3 port has a 65W output. So you can still fast charge three devices simultaneously with this UGREEN Nexode charger. This UGREEN charger also comes with a 240W USB-C to USB-C charging cable, so you can start using the charger right out of the box. Unitek 100W 4 Port Charger

If you want to charge three other devices while you charge your Surface Laptop 4, this Unitek 100W 4 port charger is a good choice. You can use 100W of Power Delivery when charging a single device from USB-C 1 or 2.

When two devices are charging or for multi-device charging, it’s best to charge your Surface Laptop 4 from the USB-C 1 port at all times because the C-1 port will output 65w charging two devices simultaneously. The USB-C 1 port will output 45W when charging three or four devices. It won’t charge your Surface Laptop 4 at max speed, but it’ll do the job. Read my extensive review article or watch my video review for a complete breakdown of the Unitek 100W 4 Port Charger.

Baseus 65W 20,000mAh Power Bank

Portable charging is easy for a USB-C chargeable laptop; you need a powerful enough power bank. This Baseus power bank has a 65W Power Delivery USB-C port, and you can use the full 65W PD output when charging your Surface Laptop 4 alone. The other two output ports on his power bank are USB-A Quick Charge ports; when charging two devices, the USB-C port drops down to a 45W output, and when charging three devices, the USB-C port drops down to a 20W charging speed.

So if you want to charge your Surface Laptop with this power bank, it’s best to charge it alone or with one other device charging as 20W of Power Delivery is too slow for charging the Surface.

You can recharge the power bank at 60W via the USB-C port, but you do need a 60W USB-C charger, or you can use the Micro-USB input port to recharge the power bank, but it’s much slower at 18W. The 20,000mAh capacity of this Baseus power bank is enough to charge the Surface Laptop to full power about once, with some spare capacity to use later. Get the full scoop on the Baseus 65W 20,000mAh Power Bank by checking out my review article.

INIU 65W 25,000mAh Power Bank

One other power bank I want to recommend is the INIU 65W power bank. This charger has a 65W Power Delivery USB-C port; the power bank also has a 30W USB-C port and a 22.5W USB-A Quick Charge port. The charger has a 25,000mAh, higher than the Baseus power bank, so you can get your Surface Laptop 4 to full power twice if that’s the only device you’re charging with this power bank.

This INIU power bank comes with a USB-C to USB-C and a USB-C to USB-A charging cable. For an in-depth look at the INIU 65W 25,000mAh Power Bank, see my review article or video review.

Crave PowerPack 50,000mAh 60W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank

This Crave PowerPack may be a bit too much because it is likely one of the highest PD power banks you will find on the market, as it has a 50,000mAh power capacity. That’s a lot of power that can keep your Surface Laptop 4 charged up for about a week straight if that’s the only device you use to charge the laptop. Of course, with such a high capacity, you can charge smartphones and tablets to full power while charging your Surface Laptop.

The ports match the power capacity on this power bank with the charger using two USB-C Power Delivery ports and two USB-A Quick Charge 3.0 ports. One of the Power Delivery ports has a 60W charging speed, and the other has an 18W charging rate. You will want to use the 60W port to charge your laptop, and the 18W port is best for fast-charging smartphones. The Crave PowerPack portable charger also comes with a 45W PD wall charger included in the box, as well as a USB-C to USB-C cable; you can use both to recharge the power bank at its max speed, or you can use them to charge the Surface Laptop 4, too.

The Crave power bank is not the type of portable charger you’d hold and take with you for a long walk, as the power bank is large and heavy. However, it’s useful for portability situations where you place it down and charge your devices. Learn more about the Crave PowerPack 50,000mAh 60W USB-C Power Delivery Power Bank in my detailed review article.

This Nekteck car charger is one of the few on the market with a Power Delivery port that can charge most laptops, as the PD port has a 45W charging speed. There is also a USB-A port on this car charger with a 12W charging speed. Even if you’re charging two devices, charging power for the USB-C PD port won’t lower as the max output of this car charger is 57W, allowing you to use both ports at their max power.

This Nekteck car charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box that lets you start using the car charger right out of the box. Check out my review article for an extensive analysis of the Nekteck 45W Power Delivery Car Charger.

Baseus 65W PD USB-C Car Charger

This Baseus dual car charger has a 65W max output, and you can fully use the 65W Power Delivery charging rate if you’re charging a single device from the USB-C port.
