Best Chargers for Surface Pro X in 2024

(Last Updated On: December 18, 2023)

The Surface Pro X is a capable piece of tech; what makes owning it even better is its accessible charging. You get a Surface Connect charger in the box because the Pro X uses a Surface Connect port. You also have the option to charge the Surface Pro X via its USB-C port.

Something owners may not know is that the Surface Pro X is 65W fast charging compatible, and you can use as little as a 45W charger to charge the Pro X. I’ve chosen some of the best USB-C chargers for the Surface Pro X that can either fast charge it at 65W or get you a regular 45W charging speed. Also, the chargers I’ve selected work great as a replacement or an upgrade because you can charge other devices while you charge your Surface Pro X.

UGREEN Nexode 140W 3 Prot Charger

One of the most powerful chargers you can own is a 140W charger; the UGREEN 140W charger is useful for fast charging your Surface Pro X and other devices simultaneously. So you can use the total 140W of Power Delivery via USB-C if you’re charging a single device from the UGREEN charger, while USB-C 2 can output 100W, and the USB-A port will always output 22.5W.

So you can fast charge the Surface Pro X if you’re charging a single device at a time from the UGREEN charger, and you can do it when charging three devices. Even when charging three devices, the USB-C 1 port outputs 65W, the USB-C 2 port outputs 45W, and the USB-A port outputs 22.5.W. I recommend charging your Surface Pro X from the USB-C 1 port for optimal charging, but you can still charge it from the USB-C 2 port. In my review for the UGREEN 140W charger, I could fast charge my Lenovo laptop and two phones simultaneously. The UGREEN charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable. Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger

The Baseus 100W 4 port charger is better than most others because the charging power allocation when charging multiple devices differs. You can use 100W of Power Delivery when charging one USB-C 1 or 2 device. The better part about this Baseus 4 port charger is that when you charge four devices, the USB-C 1 port can output 60W, USB-C 2 outputs 20W, and the two USB-A ports share a 15W charge rate.

The Baseus 100W charger differs from others because most 4-port chargers output 45W from their USB-C 1 port when charging four devices. With a 60W charge rate, you can fast charge your Surface Pro X while charging another three devices. In my review of the Baseus 100W charger, I could simultaneously charge my laptop, a power bank, and two phones. The Baseus charger does come with a USB-C to USB-C cable. Watch my video review of the Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger.

VOLTME 65W 3 Port Charger

On the more minimal side is the VOLTME 65W charger. The VOLTME charger has three ports, two USB-C ports, and a single USB-A port. You can use 65W of Power Delivery if you charge a single USB-C 1 or 2 device. If you’re charging two devices or three devices at the same time, then the USB-C 1 port can output 45W, and that is enough to charge your Surface Pro X  while you charge another two devices; that said, fast charging other devices while you charge your Surface Pro X may not be possible. In reviewing the VOLTME 65W charger, I could charge my Lenovo laptop and standard charge two phones. Watch my video review of the VOLTME 65W 3 Port Charger.

EBL 65W Charging Station with AC outlets

If you want the option of charging your Surface Pro X via a USB-C port but also want an option for using the original charger that came with your Surface Pro X, the EBL 65W charging station is a good choice. The EBL charging has two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports. You can charge your Surface Pro X from the USB-C 1 port. Still, the charging power is not enough when charging four devices at the same time, so stick to charging three devices if you want to charge your Surface Pro X. You also have the option to power your original charger to charge your Surface Pro X as there are two AC outlets on this EBL charging station.

In reviewing the EBL 65W charging station, I powered a 1300W heater and charged three devices simultaneously. Watch my video review of the EBL 65W Charging Station with AC outlets.

UGREEN 145W Power Bank

The UGREEN 145W power bank is one of my most recommended for nearly any portable USB-C device. This UGREEN power bank has a 145W max output, two USB-C ports, and a single USB-A port. The USB-C 1 port always outputs 100W of Power Delivery. When you charge from the USB-C 1 and 2 ports at the same time, USB-C 1 will output 100W, and the USB-C 2 port will output 45W at the same time; this makes it possible to fast charge your Surface Pro X via USB-C 1 and charge another laptop via USB-C 2.

In my review of this UGREEN 145W power bank, I could recharge the power bank to 60W via the USB-C 1 port and 45W via USB-C 2, so you should use the USB-C 1 port for faster recharging. Pass-through charging is also available with the UGREEN power bank. Watch my video review of the UGREEN 145W Power Bank.

Baseus 65W Power Bank

The Baseus 65W power bank is a popular charger on the market; with this charger having a single USB-C port and two USB-A ports, you can use up to 65W of Power Delivery via the USB-C port. That said, for the best charging speed for your Surface Pro X, you should charge it alone from the USB-C port because when charging two devices, the USB-C port outputs 45W, and then charging three devices results in the USB-C port outputting 20W.

In my review for the Baseus power bank, I tested the USB-C and Micro-USB input ports, and it’s a better idea to use the USB-C port for recharging because it can recharge the power bank at 60W, but you will need a 60W wall charger.

Basues 160W Car Charger

Charging your Surface Pro X while driving is possible; remember, you’re not supposed to use it. The Baseus 160W car charger is one of the most powerful car chargers you can own. The Basus car charger has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. You can fast charge your Surface Pro X from the USB-C 1 port while you drive. In my review for the Baseus 160W car charger, I could output 100W from the USB-C 1 port when recharging a power bank, and I could charge my Lenovo and another two phones with the car charger.
