Many brands have jumped onto the Chromebook bandwagon simply because they know how versatile the laptop is. That said, if you’re searching for a Chromebook, you should know what you’re buying, as not all of them are created equal. However, one of the higher-tier ones you can get is the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5. This one comes at a lower price than the competition, yet it still features some of the good specs for Chromebooks.
The laptop does come with its USB-C charging brick. However, suppose you’re searching for a USB-C charger with more ports still delivering lots of charging power. In that case, we’re covering chargers that are an excellent fit for charging the Chromebook Flex 5 for a more flexible and accessible charging experience.
UGREEN Nexode 140W Charger
The UGREEN 140W charger is one of the most reliable types of chargers that you can use for charging the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5; the same can be said about 140W chargers in general. This UGREEN charger does have a 140W max output and features two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. A total of 140W of Power Delivery can be used if you’re charging one device from the USB-C 1 port; however, what makes this UGREEN charger impressive is that even if you’re charging three devices at the same time, the USB-C 1 port can output 65W, this still lets you fast charge your Chromebook Flex 5 and charge another two devices.
In my review of the UGREEN 140W Nexode charger, I could charge my Lenovo laptop and fast charge two phones simultaneously; this charger comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable. Watch my video review of the UGREEN Nexode 140W Charger.
Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger
This Baseus 100W 4 port charger differs from most other 100W chargers with four ports because it can allocate more charging power to its USB-C 1 port when charging multiple devices. You can use the total 100W output of this charger from the USB-C 1 or 2 ports if you’re charging one device at a time. The better part about the Baseus 100W charger is that USB-C 1 can output 60W of Power Delivery from USB-C 1 even when charging four devices simultaneously. This makes it possible to fast charge the Chromebook Flex 5 and smaller devices such as phones or tablets with the same charger.
In my review of the Baseus 100W charger, I could charge my laptop, a power bank, and two phones; I also found that this charger comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box. Explore the Baseus 100W 4 Port Charger in my detailed video review.
VOLTME 65W 3 Port Charger
The VOLTME 65W charger is more on the minimal side for charging the Chromebook Flex 5, but it’s still powerful. The charger has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port; you can use the total 65W of Power Delivery via the USB-C 1 or 2 port if you charge one device at a time. Then, multi-device charging causes the USB-C 1 port to output 45W of Power Delivery, but this is still enough to charge the Chromebook Flex 5 while you charge another two devices.
In reviewing the VOLTME 65W charger, I would still charge my Lenovo laptop and two phones simultaneously. Discover more about the VOLTME 65W 3 Port Charger in my comprehensive video review.
UGREEN 65W Robot Charger
Like the VOLTME 65W charger, the UGREEN 65W Robot charger is another option for charging your Chromebook Flex 5. This UGREEN charger looks very different than most chargers on the market, with it looking like a robot, so if you want a charger with a more unique design, this is a good choice. The charging power is excellent, too, with the Robot charger having a 65W max output, and you can use the total 65W of Power Delivery via the USB-C 1 port if you’re charging one device. Then, if you’re charging multiple devices simultaneously, the USB-C 1 port will output 45W.
In my review of the UGREEN 65W Robot charger, I could use slightly more power from the ports during single and multi-device charging testing. Design-wise, this charger looks like a robot with a smiling face at the front.
Baseus Blade 100W Power Bank
If you want portable power for charging your Chromebook Flex 5, the Baseus Blade 100W power bank is reliable for charging most USB-C laptops. The Baseus Blade has two USB-C, two USB-A ports, and a 100W Power Delivery output. That said, if you want to use the full charging power of the power bank, then I recommend that you charge from the power bank one device at a time so you can use the total 100W of Power Delivery. Charging another device while charging your Chromebook Flex 5 may result in slower charging.
In my review of the Baseus Blade 100W power bank, I could see how fast my devices were charging because a screen at the top shows the voltage and amperage. Learn more about the Baseus Blade 100W Power Bank by watching my video review.
UGREEN 145W Power Bank
Another power bank that is great for charging most USB-C laptops is this UGREEN 145W power bank. This UGREEN power bank has a 145W max output and has two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. This power bank is different because you can always use 100W of Power Delivery via the USB-C 1 port; it doesn’t matter if you charge one or two other devices. The other impressive part of this UGREEN power bank is that you can use 45W and 100W of Power Delivery from the USB-C ports simultaneously; this makes it possible to fast charge your Chromebook Flex 5 and charge another laptop.
In my review of the UGREEN 145W power bank, I could recharge the power bank from either USB-C 1 or 2 but found the USB-C 1 port to have a faster 65W recharge speed. Find out more about the UGREEN 145W Power Bank in my video review.
Final thoughts about my choice of Chargers for the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5
The Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5 is still a decent laptop, even though there are better options. On the charging side, it’s very accessible because you can charge the Flex 5 using a variety of chargers as long as they meet the charging power requirements. A VOLTME 65W charger can work, but if you want more power to futureproof your charging needs, I recommend the UGREEN 140W charger that can be used with nearly any USB-C laptop and can charge two laptops.
